writes "Fellow Fishermen & Fisherwomen,
Although we don't normally fish as much on a Holiday Weekend, we had
both Boats out Saturday & Monday AM. With the low water level, most
of the Local Homeowners can't get their Boats out of thier Boat Houses,
and this coupled with the threat of Showers had the lake Traffic down
to a minimum. I believe there were fewer Boats on the Lake yesterday
than on a normal Weekend. Sure is nice to have a 45,000 acre Lake
almost to yourself on a Holiday Weekend! :)
The early AM Topwater bite continues to be best on Cloudy days and even
better if you can get a little Drizzle thrown in like we've managed over the
past few days. The long lasting Topwater Schooling still hasn't kicked in
gear consistently, but it normally improves as the Summer progresses. We
have had several outings where we've stayed on Topwater fish almost an
entire Trip, and these days have come on the few Rainy AM's we've had. We're
still catching most of our fish on Slabs, and for sure are picking up our
better Hybrid Stripers down deep.
Unlike the busy Spring Months of March thru May where we fished six days a
week and couldn't accomodate you with little advanced notice, we can now get
you on the Lake with much shorter notice. We have openings in at least one
Boat this week (Wed, Fri & Sat), and lots of openings the remainder of the
Month. We've even got Saturdays (July 8th, 15th & 22nd) with a Boat open.
If you have the Kids or Grandkids wanting an Outing, just give us a call!
Also, there is usually a cabin available at Fisherman's Point on a Weekday
if you want to take advantage of the "Package Special".
Have a Great Holiday and hope to see you soon!
